Music video reflection

My music video went to pan for the most part in the filming stage which gave me a lot of footage to work with and put together at the end. The location was also quite good however the weather wasn’t ideal, so next time I would plan what day to film better. It had the look I was going for, with the people in it having a good aesthetic which suited the song and the message I was going for. Most of the shots looked quite similar to how I had panned which made them easier to put together when editing. I was overall happy with how the editing went because ive never really used the program before. The video followed the story of the song quite well which is what I was aiming for. The camera work was decent, had a verity of shots such as walking shots and low angle.  

 

Clearly needed more to it and better execution which is reflected in the grade I got. The lip-syncing wasn’t fully in time for most of the video because I had to screen record it to upload it which made it look worse; this was the main 'ebi' from my peers. Use more filters and effects to make it look better would have been good because it was a bit boring in terms of editing. I could have used a larger range of shots for example extreme close ups when lip syncing or long shots. 

In my peer comments the most common 'www' where; Good editing, Video and its style matched the song well, The scenery was good, Message of the song came across clearly, Good cinematography. With the 'ebi' almost all of them commented on the lip sync being out of time or the fact it was screen recored, other comments 

 

Reflection can been seen here negatively effects the overall quality of the video and makes it harder to see. Next time i would film this indoors to avoid this problem. I could also look at different ways to execute what i was trying to do in a clearer and more effective way.

Should have used more creative typography and placed it in a different area of the screen so as to look more professional. It also could have had different editing done because this is the opening so it's important to interest the audience.

Shots such as this could have been done at different angles and from different distances to create s better effect. They also should be broken down more instead of just a 6/7 seconds in the same shot, to do this next time i would shoot more from different angles so i had more selection at the editing phase.
